UTR competition at Centercourt Tennis

The holiday barbeques were put on hold until the Centercourt Academy 4th of July UTR Shootout competition was decided this past Wednesday at the club’s Florhan Park venue.

The event drew 18 players in two UTR divisions, 3-to-4.5 and the 6.0-and-up level.

Charlie Bibbee and Adrian Treacy were the co-champs in the 3-to-4.5 UTR level competition. Each player tallied 19 games won in the three 30-minute rounds, using no-ad scoring. Ryan Sun took top honors in the 6.0-and-up level, edging Aryan Dugar and Katey Peretz by two games.

Three other days of Shootout competition also saw winning players earn a $25 gift certificate from the club’s pro shop at it’s Chatham facility.

On Monday, Andrew Zielinski won the 1.5-3.0 level. Isabella DeLuccia won the 3.0-4.5 level on Tuesday, winning 22 games and former Mercer County Community College player Jeremy Gottlieb won the 7.0-and-up UTR level on Thursday.

Centercourt will host its second Summer Series UTR Tournament July 13-15. Players can register for the tournament at myutr.com.
